Tomorrow Maker - Milestones Area Agency on Aging

Milestones Area Agency on Aging

There are a few area organizations and agencies that have been with CASI as one of our faithful funders for nearly as long as we have been in existence. We are honored to have received support for our mission from Milestones Area Agency on Aging throughout our history.

We are honored to share a few thoughts about the partnership between Milestones and CASI as provided by Becky Passman, Milestones CEO.

Why does Milestones support CASI?

Milestones Area Agency on Aging provides a supportive network through advocacy, education, coordination, counseling, nutrition, and various programs and services all geared to meet the needs of senior Iowans and their caregivers. Milestones counts on valued partnerships with community-based service providers, senior centers, municipalities, and senior advocates to help address and meet the needs of aging Iowans. CASI is a stellar example of an organization focused on providing needed services and offers a wealth of opportunities for older QC adults to meet, socialize, learn, stay active, make friendships, and enjoy life. Milestones greatly values the services we contract with CASI to provide, such as Jane's Place Adult Day Services and outreach services, and appreciates CASI’s hosting of a Milestones congregate meal site and Evidence-Based falls prevention classes.

What impact do you feel CASI has on our community?

CASI is well-recognized in the Quad Cities as a leading advocate and resource for older adults. CASI helps to raise visibility of senior issues and provides great value not only through senior center activities but through the provision of greatly needed services.

What common visions do Milestones and CASI share that are important to you?

Milestones and CASI are both committed to empowering older adults, and to helping them identify and access the services and resources they need to remain independent, self-sufficient, safe at home, and healthy.

As a community leader, what is your vision for senior services in the QCA?

My vision for senior services in the Quad Cities is that creative collaboration among providers, senior advocates, community leaders, and citizens will continue to grow in scope and effectiveness, and that older adults throughout the Quad Cities feel valued, prioritized, and fully empowered to live self-sufficiently with dignity and purpose.

Thank you Milestones!
We are very grateful for the faithful investment provided each year for CASI's mission.
